Exceptional Care For Women

My time at Exceptional Care under the oversight of Dr. Bron has been an incredibly healing experience. After a difficult, complicated first pregnancy where I was left adrift with little guidance and a heaping helping of shame about my diagnoses, I entered my second pregnancy with great trepidation and nervousness. Dr. Bron and the team at Exceptional Care listened to each of my concerns and treated me as an equal in my plan of care, allowing us to proactively manage my complications as they developed instead of simply reacting once things had already gotten out of hand. When additional concerns arose, I was referred out to a specialist and seen within the week to ensure the safety of my baby. While we ultimately didn't need it, I was able to receive an induction date with ease and move it forward when my condition began to deteriorate. My care was evidence-based and guided by the principle goal of getting me and my baby through the experience alive and healthy, and I am happy to say that we were successful. I am so eternally grateful to have had such an exceptional experience, no pun intended. If you are someone with a history of high risk pregnancies and are looking for a team that 1) takes your concerns seriously and 2) is more than willing to work with you to achieve the best possible outcome, I cannot recommend Exceptional Care enough.

I had my first apt with Dr. Wagers today and I am absolutely blown away with her level of compassion she provided me. We have had a little bit of a nightmare with our previous OB, so I was very nervous today walking back in an OB office. She took her time in explaining everything to me, answering all of my questions, and truly made me feel like she cared. I feel like it is very hard to find a doctor who will actually sit and listen to your concerns, have patience with you, and be caring at the same time. I have never felt more confident in choosing an OB and will forever be thankful for the experience I had today.

I saw Dr. Megan Cannon today. I can't say enough good things about her. She is so friendly and very personable. This is one of the best "first" appointments I have ever had in my life! I'm so excited to move my care to this practice. Dr. Cannon's assistant and the front desk staff were also very sweet and friendly. I didn't feel like I was just a number. Everyone made me feel welcome and like they truly cared. I highly recommend Exceptional Care For Women to all the ladies out there. You won't regret it!

If you ever even think about going to a birth center even just to look, don't tell them. In my 8th month of pregnancy, I had heard about at home births and had asked about if they did them. I was told no, so I said that was fine and that I was just curious because it was something I was interested in learning more about. I told my doctor i was going to ask a midwife about it, and she said that was fine. Well, it wasn't. I made it very clear that I was just going to ask about home birth from these people and that I wasn't planning on changing providers. Well, come to my next appointment. They have canceled my care and refused to take me back, and the excuse was literally because I'm not allowed to talk to other providers and continue there. I understand why now, but my doctor should've brought that up when I asked her about it. I was so lucky to find another place last minute during the end of my 8th month of pregnancy and met with the new Dr. Only once before I gave birth. It is unbelievable how these people would cancel someone's care without telling them, especially when the reason why came up in conversation before the deed was done. However, I will give them 2 stars instead of one because up until that point, these people were very kind.

I was treated so poorly by Stephanie at the front desk that I didn't even make it to my first appointment. I was so excited to find out I was pregnant, so I made a few different appointments with different doctors so I can decide which doctor I feel the most comfortable with. Dr. Cannon had great reviews, and I was excited for my first appointment. I was told on the phone prior to my appointment that the doctor charges an additional fee on top of what is billed through insurance to deliver the baby, and although this was the only doctor's office I talked to that had this fee, I didn't mind paying additional cost if I decided that Dr. Cannon was the right doctor for me. So I filled out my paperwork online, uploaded insurance and ID, and showed up 30 min early. I was asked if I was prepared to start making payments today. I told the receptionist that I'm happy to pay for my appointment today and that I was there to meet the doctor to decide if she is the right fit for me. I was honest about having other appointments to meet other doctors before making the decision of who will ultimatly deliver my baby. I'm very early in pregnancy and I didn't think there was anything unusual about taking time and considering all options before making such an important decision. Stephanie informed me that if I'm even considering taking appointments with another doctor that my appointment won't be taken today. I was shocked. I clarified that I had never met Dr. Cannon, and I was there to meet her and determine if I felt comfortable in her care or not. Stephanie said that their clinic doesn't allow patients to "shop around" and if I wouldn't be exclusively under Dr. Cannon's care, that I wouldn't be seen. I couldn't believe that they wanted me to agree to pay thousands of dollars before meeting the doctor, in addition to agreeing not to meet any other doctors! I walked out almost in tears. Stephanie was cold, unempathetic and had an entitled attitude. I will find a practice that values the relationship between the mother, baby and doctor. I warn other expectant mothers not to be treated as a number, or be fooled into paying thousands of dollars before meeting the person responsible for their baby's life. This is unethical treatment.

I have seen Dr. Wagers for two pregnancies and one delivery. She has consistently gone above and beyond in her care and listens with patience and genuine concern to my questions. I am so grateful for the care I have received from her and the whole office during routine visits as well as a worrisome issue I experienced during my last pregnancy. It is rare to find healthcare folks who will slow down, willingly adjust their already busy schedules and listen intently to your concerns. They have been a blessing.

I waited months for an appointment here. I received a call less than 2 weeks before my appt that my doctor would have to change my time. The new time wasn’t ideal but I didn’t want to wait another 3 months for an appt so I was going to make it work. I drove 35 minutes to the office and arrived 5 minutes late. I was told I couldn’t be seen because I was late. I’m furious and so disappointed. I find it interesting that they asked and expected me to accommodate them but gave absolutely no thought to accommodating me.
